Using the DataStage Mainframe edition, learn to build Extraction, Transformation, Load (ETL) jobs that run on the mainframe. These jobs extract data from a variety of native mainframe sources, including Common Business Oriented Language (COBOL) files, DB2 tables, Information Management System (IMS) databases, and Teradata databases. After transforming the data, these jobs can load the data into a variety of targets, including COBOL files, DB2 tables, Teradata tables, bulk loaders, and external routines.

Focus on how to design mainframe jobs in DataStage and how to generate the COBOL and Job Control Language (JCL) from these designs.

Also, learn how to perform a variety of data transformations and conversions using built-in DataStage functionality, including sorts, aggregations, joins, lookups and conditional lookups, filters, and derivations. Examine all the DataStage clients, including:

	Administrator for configuring projects
	Manager for managing metadata imported for use in DataStage jobs
	Designer for designing DataStage jobs using Graphical User Interface (GUI) tools, generating the COBOL source, generating the JCL for compiling and running the job on the mainframe, and uploading the COBOL and JCL to the mainframe
