To succeed fully in this course, students should have completed the following courses or have equivalent experience:

SA-239: Intermediate System Administration for the Solaris 9 Operating System
SA-299: Advanced System Administration for the Solaris 9 Operating System
SA-399: Network Administration for the Solaris 9 Operating System
SM-240: Sun Enterprise Server Maintenance
or be able to: describe the Sun Enterprise 10000 system architecture
Install the Solaris OS on a workstation and on a server using the add_install_client command
Install software with the pkgadd command
Configure the Solaris Operating System (Solaris OS) on a server
Plan and configure network interface hardware
Configure Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) subnets
Create and maintain OpenBoot programmable read-only (PROM) device aliases
Locate devices in the OpenBoot PROM device tree
Plan and configure disk storage array hardware
Add new devices to the Solaris OS
Understand and follow complex administration procedures
