Learn to be an effective network administrator for Linux(TM). Learn the fundamentals of TCP/IP and Linux networking. Become productive in setting up or running a network that uses Linux systems. Learn how to perform TCP/IP network configuration and administration on Linux systems and how to detect and solve problems in a TCP/IP environment.

Students can choose to perform the lab exercises on either a Red Hat or SUSE platform.

An on-line, self-paced version of this course, complete with remote access to hands-on labs, is offered as Linux TCP/IP Administration self-paced virtual class (QLXA7).

Linux Basics and Installation (self-paced virtual class) (QLXA2)
Linux System Administration I: Implementation (LX030) or
Linux System Administration (QLX03) or
Linux System Administration (self-paced virtual class) (QLXA3)
or be able to:
Understand the Linux environment
Use Linux commands
Work with linuxconf to configure your system
Edit files using the vi editor
Use files systems, directories, and files, and their security
Incorporate general networking concepts
