The Upgrading VERITAS Storage Foundation and VERITAS Cluster Server for Solaris from 4.x to 5.0 course from Symantec is designed for the IT professional tasked with installing, upgrading, and using the Storage Foundation High Availability (SFHA) 5.0 features. This two-day, virtual academy seminar covers how to upgrade an SFHA environment from 4.x to 5.0 and how to make the best of the available new features. Students also learn how to install and use the new management consoles for Storage Foundation and VCS.

This course is for system administrators, system engineers, network administrators, system integration or development staff, and technical support personnel who are currently working with VERITAS Storage Foundation HA 4.x environments.
 
prerequisites
 
 
You should have experience as a system and network administrator working in a UNIX environment and you should have working knowledge of VERITAS Storage Foundation 4.x for Solaris and VERITAS Cluster Server 4.x for Solaris products.

Install or upgrade a Storage Foundation environment from 4.x to 5.0.
Install and use the Storage Foundation Management Server (SFMS).
Tune DMP/DDL. for enhanced performance and error handling.
Simplify a campus cluster environment by using the new remote mirroring capabilities.

Use the new tentative data migration tools.
Implement a data life cycle management solution using the Dynamic Storage Tiering (DST) feature of SF 5.0.
Implement policy based storage provisioning in large environments.
Install or upgrade a VCS cluster from 4.x to 5.0.
Install and use the Cluster Management Console CMC).
Describe the changes in the bundled agents and tart using the new available agents.
Describe the changes in the engine behaviour.
